Six hours west of San Antonio,

three hours east of El Paso, Marfa is firmly in the heart of the west Texas desert. It’s a commitment to get there, and driving through all those long miles beneath the blazing sun and endless blue sky feels like a meditation. An opportunity to acclimate to the severe landscape that surrounds you and stretches from horizon to horizon. It’s among the most astounding things i’ve had the good fortune to experience. The lesson is to cut out the noise - bring nothing with you that doesn’t serve.
